You can heal yourself

Like the millions of people in the country, I’m currently locked down in my house with restricted movements outside and I decided to spend this period in silence and reflection.

I am writing this column in deep silence and prayer over what is happening in the country and the world now, following the coronavirus pandemic, which has seriously disrupted our lives and livelihoods.

I would like to devote my writing to self-healing because this is what every individual needs now.

Did you know that every individual is a born healer, but the sad part is that not many of us know that we possess this special power within us?

Many of us seek healing from other people, like doctors and alternative therapies, not knowing that the only person who can heal us is ourselves.

Our bodies are designed to heal themselves, and research has shown that no object or remedy can cure anyone. Instead, they can only assist if the individual is in harmony with nature, which is the subtle energy.

For instance, a doctor prescribes medication, and it is said that healing is done by God, while others call it the life force.

No matter what we call it, the sacred influence is within us and it is important that we recognise this infinite wisdom and be in tune with it and invoke it for our benefit.

I’m a strong advocate for self-healing because if you discover this secret strength within yourself, you will be able to fight off disease, enhance your energy and vitality, and enjoy peace and well-being.

The best time to take stock of our bodies is weekly, on our rest day or Sunday, which is meant to be a day for relaxation.

All of us suffer from aches and pains in our bodies at some point in our lives. Have you ever wondered why?

These are basically messages that we are not listening to our body and the time has come for us to change our ways or lifestyle.

Have you ever asked how, when you get a cut (not excessive) in your body, and even if you ignore it, it heals without any medication?

Many people abuse their bodies daily with lack of sleep, rest, improper diet, overwork, and indiscipline, but they still escape from any adverse effects because, unknowingly, their self-healing system takes care of the mistreatments.

But such ignorance can have harmful effects on our mind and body over time, thus affecting our health.

Healing takes place every minute in our bodies, and it is vital that we communicate with our bodies with positive thoughts, as these play a major role in the self-healing process.

I had the opportunity to learn about and be exposed to self-healing methods from some renowned spiritual masters in India in my pursuit of the unseen energies.

All of them say that answers to every individual’s woes in their lives are within them, but people are not sensitive to the signals they get from their bodily senses.

According to these experts, people who regularly attend or visit places of worship of any faith, or pray individually, are 40% less likely to have health problems than those who seldom attend such sacred sites or events.

Those who are religiously inclined are said to have a stronger immune system than others, owing to their strong faith and the divine protection they enjoy, which can put physical illness beneath us.

Such people have healthier lifestyles, a stronger sense of well-being, and life satisfaction than their less religious peers.

The best way to start believing that you can heal yourself is by reprogramming the thoughts you carry. Our minds are powerful tools, which we can harness to create our reality because our thoughts are a form of energy.

Through them, we shape the unformed energy of the universe into form, giving us direction for our words and actions.

Each thought is like a stone dropped into a lake, sending ripples out into our world to affect all they touch.

We can choose our focus and how we invest our energy, giving us the power to design our lives as whatever we choose in each and every moment.

One example is saying this affirmation daily: “Every day, I am getting healthier and happier,” or “I’m connected to the life force and always have enough energy and vitality to be healthy and happy.”

It is also important that you talk to your body openly, or silently, if you think others around you will see you as weird.

Visualise and imagine that you are healthy and vibrant with light and you will see your body being filled with radiant healing life force.

Self-healing method

Every individual can tap into the life force for protection and better health, or whenever you want to ease pain or stress, or get some relief. A simple exercise to connect to this energy is:

● Find a quiet spot and hold your left hand and palm outward.

● For healing energy to flow through you, visualise the life force coming into your body through the palm of your left hand. It can be a white light or any warm colour.

● As you keep holding up your left hand and allowing the energy to enter, place your right hand and palm down on the area of your body that requires healing.

● You may feel some warmth entering your left hand and your right palm may get hot. You may also experience a vibration, which means the life force is moving through you.

● You can practise this exercise for about 10 to 20 minutes whenever you have an issue like indigestion, tense muscles or shoulders, headaches, stress, pain in the joints, etc.

● After completing the therapy, relax and be grateful for being able to connect to the energy, and it is important to say thank you silently to show appreciation to the unseen forces.
